I love Hunter!

I love how this kid knows to say the most unexpected things at just the right moment so they have me laughing all day. Hunter has two for the day so far and still counting...

  1. I woke up this morning about 6:15 and was lying in bed trying to convince myself to get up and workout. Spencer, by the way, had already gotten up and read scriptures by this time. He's awesome. Anyway, I'm laying there when I heard Hunter scream at the top of his lungs "DO IT!!!". He's in his bedroom and of course I have no idea why he's yelling, so I continue laying there. About 20 second go by and I heard again, "DO IT!!!". I look at the clock and it's about 6:25. For those who don't know, we've trained Hunter not to leave his bedroom in the morning until 6:30. We taped a number 6 on his clock, set his clock back half an hour, and told him not to come out until the clock number matched the six. After he yelled the second time I had my suspicions, which were confirmed when he came out a few minutes later. I said "Hunter, why were you yelling?" He said, "I was yelling at my clock to change," like I totally should have known. Isn't it obvious? Also, I did get up and workout : )
  2. I was trying to convince him to eat his grapes and strawberries that he gets with his lunch and he wasn't really feeling it. We were also looking at peoples blogs at the time, so I had a genius idea. He wanted to see a picture, so I told him to eat a strawberry and grape first. He did happily and was quite proud of himself when it was all done. So when he eats quickly without a fight I sometimes give him a treat after lunch, today it was a Smarty. I was dumping them out on his tray and asked him if I could have one. He responds with, "Um, how bout you clean up the messy counter first mom. Then I'll give you one." I was so shocked by his answer that I couldn't even respond. I just walked in the other room and laughed.

More to come I'm sure.

I just love the age our boys are now! They say the funniest things, don't they?
Today on our way to the grocery store Easton just randomly said, "One call, that's all".
I think maybe he's seen a few too many of those irritating lawyer commercials like Corey B. Trotz!

I love him too! Yesterday I was doing the dishes and I started singing "H-U-N, T-E-R, Hunter Hunter Hunter Hunter is my name" And I realized it had been in my head all morning. It made me laugh. I'm such a nerd. Those are some great stories. "DO IT!!" Haaaahaaa.
