Fun Long Weekend

It's been such a great weekend. Spencer didn't have to go into school or work Thursday or Friday. So we he got to help me with a project I've been wanting to do forever. When we had Hunter, Spencer's parents gave us this dresser/changing table that they used for all of their kids. We've been so grateful to have it, but it had a strong 70's look that I've been wanting to update before the girl comes. We weren't sure exactly how to go about it since some of it is laminate, some is wood, and some is still unidentified. Anyway, we worked hard on it Friday and finished the whole project by Saturday morning. I have to say it came out much better than either of us had hoped, it almost looks brand new with the fresh paint and new handles.

As if the dresser wasn't enough excitement, Spencer had another suprise for me that I got Thursday night. We've been married almost 4 years now and used folding chairs as our "dining chairs" the whole time. Spencer knows I've been wanting real wooden chairs forever so as an early mother's day gift he got me this beautiful set (including the new table). The best part is that he got it off of craigslist for only $60!!! I couldn't be more proud of him and I LOVE the table and chairs. Thanks again honey!
Barbara's Award Winning Big Buns do it again! Spencer made his Grandma Luke's Cinnamon Buns recipe for the ward talent show / bake off tonight and won second prize. He even got this lovely apron as a prize.
