Fun

After a long weekend where I spent 32 of a possible 57 hours at school (16 of the remaining 25 was sleeping, and 2 more were church), Hunter had been asking if I would ever be around again. It worked out ok, because now I have the next three days off. We celebrated this morning with apple pancakes, a trip to Pump it Up that wore us all out, and then after naps we went to the zoo. We forgot the stroller and after lugging Charlotte around for 1 1/2 hours, I have a very sore back and a new respect for Heather. But the kids had fun and we were happy to spend some time as a family. Here are a few shots from the day.

Aint that bout the purtiest thing on God's green earth? I reckon so.
Charlotte LOVES playing with clothes-if the laundry basket is accessible, with clean or dirty clothes, she is in heaven!
So we potty trained Hunter about a month ago, and it has been awesome. We found a good method but we also waited, for various reasons, until he was more than ready. Anyway, he's only wet himself a handful of times and never pooped his pants, and hasn't had an accident in almost two weeks. He can do everything but button his pants and wipe his poopy bum, so it's been awesome. It has been hard accommodating his needs at inconvenient times, and he has been sly at exploiting the "need" to potty at times when he should be sleeping. So, long explanation for the picture, but the other night he came out of his room at around 10 pm and we heard him in the bathroom and then got distracted with other things. When we headed to our room 15 min later, we walked past and found him like this, little bum hangin out and using his pants as a pillow. We laughed pretty hard before helping him to bed-sure enough, he had used the potty-just hadn't had it in him to finish the job!
My birthday celebration got strung out over a week-always a good thing. It made up for spending my actual birthday at school/work for 15 hours. This was the day before.
Best b-day dinner EVER! Heather would've won an award with this meal. Marinated Tilapia with strawberry salsa, twice baked butternut squash, and rice pilaf. I just about died. mmmm, I'm getting hungry

I love Charlotte as Bob the Builder. And I think Luke really has found the love of his life. Heather, awesome job on Spencer's b-day meal. That is some seriously fancy cooking right there.

I would LOVE to know the way you potty trained. Sean is so stubborn, lazy, not interested, whatever you want to call him, he's it. Please send me and email and fill me in on your tricks
